Gold Coast International Airport, a high-traffic hub located at Coolangatta on Queensland’s Gold Coast, faced a critical need for a next-generation back up power system. Eneraque was approached to deliver this sophisticated power solution, ensuring seamless operations and addressing the specific requirements of the airport.

Project Overview

The client required a custom-built power generation package comprising two units powered by V20 MTU solutions engines, each rated at 2800kVA 11kV. These units needed to be housed in custom aircraft-grade aluminium enclosures and feature 3,000L in-built self-bunded fuel tanks to provide critical backup power.

Enhanced Scope and Control Systems

Eneraque went beyond the initial scope by taking on the responsibility of completing a complex site control system. This proactive measure was critical in addressing the potential liquidated damages (LD’s) risk due to the failure of the initially chosen contractor to fulfil their obligations.
