Bellingen & Urunga Sewerage Treatment Plants

Project Overview Eneraque was engaged to provide pricing and deliver a comprehensive power solution for the Bellingen and Urunga Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). The scope of the project included the supply and installation of a 165kVA standby diesel generator in an acoustic enclosure at each site. Additionally, the council required three trailer-mounted generators to ensure emergency power could be deployed to any of their remote pump stations in the event of a blackout. Project Highlights
  • Installation of 2 x 165kVA enclosed diesel generators at Bellingen and Urunga STPs.
  • Provision of 3 x trailer-mounted generators for emergency power at remote pump stations across the region.
Client Need The client needed a reliable emergency backup power solution to maintain continuous operation at both STP sites, along with mobile generators that could be quickly deployed to any remote pump station requiring backup power during an outage. Our Approach Eneraque visited both treatment plant sites to assess the existing infrastructure, measuring the current draw and determining the required motor starting capacity for each generator. Based on these assessments, we provided tailored recommendations to the council on the appropriate generator sizing to meet their operational needs. Our Solution Eneraque supplied robust diesel backup generators that met the project’s specifications. For the trailer-mounted units, we ensured they were equipped with heavy-duty trailers, complete with plug-in leads and storage boxes. These trailers were built to Australian Design Rules (ADR) standards and compliant with the maximum towing capacity of the council’s vehicles. Turnaround Time The entire project was delivered within 12 weeks, ensuring the council had reliable backup power solutions in place in a timely manner.
