Eneraque was engaged as a principal supplier to design, manufacture, factory test and commission two 1.25 MW gas-fired generator sets to be fuelled by sewage gas collected at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Werribee STP required a solution that would enable the utilisation of methane gas produced from the sewerage plant to be transformed into electricity whilst reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere.
Eneraque provided the client with a gas conditioning system, which includes gas scrubbers and coalescing vessels as well as two 1.25 MW gas-fired generator sets to be fuelled by sewage gas collected at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The client is now able to produce electricity from methane gas whilst the plant uses clean water from treated sewage to remove H2S, which can be the key to better engine life. The units are modular, enclosed in individual aluminum weatherproof, sound attenuated enclosures and operate in parallel with the grid.
